L Street Missions
L Street is a ministry that serves the homeless population in Brockton, MA. Located in the basement of the Central United Methodist Church at 42 L Street, Brockton, they provide warm meals, spiritual nourishment and needed hygiene/clothing items.
On the second and fourth Saturday of each month, Citylife volunteers provide around 100 servings of food and dessert to our unhoused guests. If you would like to sign up to contribute to the meal, click here. If you and your CG would like to take the lead on a given Saturday, consult this checklist.
- For more information on serving with L Street, please read this information sheet.
- If you are coordinating a Saturday meal, visit this Google site.
- To receive email updates about L Street, please email Nam Hee Kim, Citylife's Director of Neighborhood Outreach.
Sweets for L Street
Julia and Anna Oh are coordinating youth and older elementary children to bake desserts for L Street.
"Our goal is to have the Youth Group help bake for the homeless, while also building community and sharing their love for God with each other and the homeless community."
Support a Foster Family
Foster families welcome and care for children who have been temporarily removed from their homes by the state for their safety. To love and care for a foster child will no doubt have its challenges. Will you consider being part of the team to support and wrap around a foster family at Citylife as they prepare to care for another little one?
Some ways to do this:
- Sign up to donate or lend used or new baby items
- Sign up to offer babysitting help (you must submit to a CORI check)
- Placements can happen on very short notice, without time to prepare everything. Sign up to be part of an email list to which the foster family can post for help with more urgent needs as they arise.
Email Nam Hee Kim for more information, or to get connected.
